Alappuzha
Alappuzha has a long coasted stretch and intricate natural canals and back waters which have cawsea it to be called the "Venice of East". Alappuzha is the centre of Kerala's famous coir industry.
But most colourful event, typical of Alappuzha is the annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race organized on the second Saturday of August every year.
